SPRINGFIELD, IL – The Senate passed comprehensive pension reform by a 40-16 vote, Thursday. State Senator James Clayborne (D-Belleville) voted for the proposal.
“I believe this is the best option Illinois has to fix the debt crisis,” Clayborne said. “While this was a hard vote, this constitutional legislation will help stabilize our state’s pension systems, start fixing our state’s finances and is as fair as possible.”
This proposal, Senate Bill 2404, now moves to the House for a vote.
